What does a design meeting look like at RP Homes?

So you’ve signed a contract with RP Homes! That is so exciting! Your dream home is right around the corner but you still have some decisions to make. At reservation, you selected a floor plan and lot that is compatible with it as well as received pricing for selection options that fit within your budget. The next step after signing your contract is setting up a time to meet with RP Communities’s Designer Kristen Robbs to begin designing your dream home!

How to Prepare for a Design Meeting

A great way for buyers to prepare for the design meeting is to review all of the selection options prior to the meeting. Knowing what you are interested in before the meeting helps the meeting run more efficiently and alleviates stress. It is also great for you to ask any questions you may have before the meeting so that we can get responses from other departments quickly. This is especially important if the answer to the question will impact your design decisions.

It is also a great idea to think about how you plan to use your space before the meeting. How you use your space will ultimately impact the types of finishes that might be necessary in terms of color, style, and durability in each room. You can also consider what areas of the home make the most sense to upgrade so that you get the most return on your investment in the long run.

What is Discussed in a Design Meeting?

We love to get to know our clients' interests and goals during the design meeting because it impacts design decisions. Things like children, cooking a lot, working from home, how often you entertain, or how much time you spend outside can impact major design decisions. We want to make sure we are recommending options that fit with our client's unique needs and interests!

Both the exterior and interior design are discussed in a design meeting. For the exterior, we will decide if you want an all-siding home or if you would like to incorporate brick accents. We will also discuss exterior paint colors, and if any add-ons like a two-car garage or covered patio are wanted. For the interior, we determine the finishes within the home and structural options such as a fireplace, or tub in the bathroom. We also focus on kitchen design such as cabinet style, color, drawer stacks, additional cabinetry, and appliance packages.

Design Meetings at RP Homes

“Our goal at RP Homes is to provide you not only with a beautiful home but an affordable one as well,” stated RP Communities’ Designer Kristen Robbs. RP includes many options in the base price of homes to help you get your dream home within your budget. Our approach in design meetings is to first determine what is most important to the buyer and then work to meet those goals while maintaining a comfortable price point.

RP design meetings can last 1.5 to 3 hours so that we can deep dive into your personal needs and design exactly what you are dreaming of. If you have any questions related to your design meeting you can contact KRobbs@rphomes.community
